Inside Ceremonies at

   A Cardinal House

During the cold New England winter season and on other days when the weather is inclement the magic of A Cardinal House Small Wedding or Elopement  transforms the common areas of the Inn into a timeless, cloistered world of romance.  The warmth of the fires in the nineteenth century fireplaces and the soft classical music create an atmosphere free of stress and worry.  The rooms are filled with antiques, period reproductions and family heirlooms to make you feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed.

The Great Room, in the 1890 front section of the Inn, is the site of many intimate ceremonies.  The ten foot drop canvas ceiling and cornice moldings, polished hardwood floors and Austrian Crystal chandelier invite you to unwind and prepare for an uniquely magical and memorable event.

The nineteen century fireplace serves as a focal point for your intimate wedding or vow renewal ceremony.  Michael, our Justice of the Peace, takes pleasure in designing the text of the ceremony to reflect each couple's desires and wishes.  If requested, Nancy will play the piano for the processional and recessional music.

"Thank you!  Everything was so very nice.  I don't regret anything

and I would do it all again exactly the same."

The Library, on the opposite side of the Grand Foyer from the Great Room is as unique as it is comfortable.  The ten foot cherry wood coffered ceiling is highlighted with egg and dart molding.  This room is set apart from all the other rooms in the Inn by it's red decorative hues and comfortable leather chairs and sofa. The red wall-to-wall carpet invites you to sit on the floor in front of the fireplace that casts a warm red glow throughout the room.

" Thank you for a wonderful, romantic, and stress-free wedding

experience.  It was more than we could have hoped for.  Everything

was perfect.  See you again!"      Jean and Rick 3-14-08

The Library is a favor selection for elopement and vow renewal ceremonies, especially around Valentine's Day.  Guests staying in The Ashley Room have the sole use of the Library in the evening as part of the overnight packages.  All of A Cardinal House guest rooms have cable TV, however the TV in the Library is equipped with the extended movie and sports channels.

"Thank you for making our wedding perfect with all th right touches.

The words of the ceremony were beautiful and we want to keep a

copy of them in our wedding album."

                                                           Kimberly and Rafael 1-07-08

The main front entrance to the Inn is by way of the Grand Foyer.  This spacious area is ideal for receiving guests and the grand stairway is a favor location for photographs.  Our signature Hors d'oeuvre Reception gives your guests the opportunity to relax in any of the first floor common areas while our professional staff will served the hors d'oeuvres to them so that they are not confined to a table and chair but are able to roam throughout the well appointed areas to enjoy the ambience of this unique New England setting.

The Dining Room, in the 1830 section, is the center of many of A Cardinal House culinary experiences.  Our executive chef, Kevin, takes pride in creating memorable gourmet dinners using seasonal specialties while remaining sensitive to special requests and dietary restrictions.

" Nancy, I personally want to thank you for your sensitivity and

your artistry.  The flowers were beautiful, as were all of your

special touches"           Pat and Fred  10-2-05

Easily accessable from the dining room, the Veranda provides an informal, relaxed atmosphere in which to sit back and take in the outdoor sounds of nature and is a perfect spot for casual conversation or quiet personal reflection.  In evenings, when there is a chill in the air, the glow and crackling sounds of the fire from the decorative fireplace add to the peaceful ambience.
